Some friends of mine said they found some big, old synth in a surplus shop one day. I drove over and it turns out it’s an ARP 2600. It has a price of $450 and came with a Roland CSQ-100 microcomputer-controlled CV/gate digital sequencer. I think I offered them $350, and they dropped the price to $425. I jumped at it!
It has the ARP 2620 Duophonic keyboard. And it also came with an original ARP 2600 factory patch guidebook with blank patch sheets. One of the sheets shows how to recreate Edgar Winter’s synth solo patch from his classic song, “Frankenstien”.
